My dad always used to say we'd have a January thaw... even if we had to wait till February for it. Well, this year it came bang on time, right in the middle of the month. We're back to the deep freeze, but here are some photos from that lovely week in mid-January:
I've got a Fujifilm Finepix JX. 5x optical zoom, 16 megapixels. Quite a step up from my old camera, which had only 6 megapixels. It's also thinner: my old camera was as thick as my wallet, and this one's about three-quarters of that size. It's taking some getting used to, though. The wrist strap isn't adjustable, which makes me feel as if I'm going to drop the camera, and I'm still getting used to where all the buttons are.
I can relate to getting used to the buttons. We used to use a 6 MP Panasonic, and we do still keep it in the glove compartment because it still works and all. But we commandeered the Fujifilm Finepix JV (the 12 MP one) that was still languishing in its original box two years after my BIL had given it to his parents for Xmas. And as we use it, I can't even imagine them figuring the thing out, because WE can barely figure it out! LOL! It does take nice pictures, though I'm confounded by some of the features.
I like how thin it is too. The Panasonic was like carrying a brick.
